Beyond the Scrubs

A little glimpse at my life outside of work.

My favorite days are spent at the beach, enjoying the sun and sound of the waves crashing, and I am a self-proclaimed Sunset Chaser! Unfortunately, I don’t live by the beach, so my other activities include tap dancing (since I was a little girl) and wine tasting (I live in the Finger Lakes region and spent some memorable time in Napa Valley when I lived in Northern California). I also enjoy driving my jeep with the top off and the wind in my hair, and you might catch me curled up with a cozy blanket reading a lighthearted romance novel now that I’ve completed all of my schooling.

At the beginning of 2026, I tore my ACL and Meniscus on the very first run of our ski season. Little did I know that recovering from that surgery would change so much of me from the inside out. I had to learn patience and allow others to care for me the way I would normally care for them. I am relearning how to move my knee and my body properly. But this time off has allowed me to finish school without the stress of working full-time. I’ve become an Orchid mom and am diligently working to keep it alive while also keeping my Christmas Cactus growing bigger and bigger each year! This season of life reminded me that growth doesn’t always happen during our biggest successes. Sometimes it happens during the moments that slow us down enough to appreciate everything else.

Traveling and seeing the sights is also very fun to me! I most often plan trips to beaches (Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Jamaica), and I’d say my favorites are the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Ventnor City, New Jersey (my sister lives there), and I loved having lunch and hanging out in Half Moon Bay when I lived in California. I have been to England twice (my mom’s a Brit!) and Amsterdam once (I wish I’d had more time there), and I have family in Australia, so I have been lucky enough to go there twice as well. Hopefully, I can continue adding to my bucket list of hot spots as life allows!

Life is about finding balance. Nursing is one of my greatest passions and accomplishments, but spending time with family and friends, traveling, chasing sunsets, and making memories reminds me why I love caring for others. Thanks for stopping by!
